Another Bong model and actress who has made a mark for herself in the industry is dusky beauty Koena Mitra. The sexy heroine celebrates her birthday on 7th January 1984. She was born in ‘City of Joy’ Kolkata in a Bengali Hindu family. Koena finished her schooling from South Point High School and did her graduation in psychology from Lady Brabourne College.

Koena was an active participant in extra-curricular activities. Besides training with the ballet troupe of Mamta Shankar for 12 years, she also learnt various other forms of western dancing and participated in basketball, tennis and swimming. Although she wanted to become an athlete, fate had other plans for her.

In her school life itself, Koena had started modeling. She won the Gladrags Mega Model India 2003, but this created much tension in the family. Nevertheless, she decided to pursue this field. She even participated in the Miss Intercontinental (Germany), but had to be content with the first runner-up award.
